Tutor Charlotte Program I provides students in grades 4–8 with a rigorous academic foundation in mathematics and language arts. For $170.00 per month, students can receive 28–36+ hours of intensive online tutoring each month, seven days a week, with instruction aligned with their specific school curriculum and academic standards.

For just $170.00 per month, students can receive up to 36 hours of intensive online tutoring every month, seven days a week, with flexible scheduling. Instruction is tailored to each student's grade level, school curriculum, academic needs, and applicable North Carolina academic standards.

Expanded Curriculum 2026
Our program is designed to support each student's school curriculum while strengthening foundational knowledge, developing advanced academic skills, and preparing for important North Carolina assessments.
Mathematics: Comprehensive instruction in general mathematics, pre-algebra, Math 1, Algebra 1, and geometry, based on the student's grade level and academic readiness.
Mathematical Logic: Enrichment modules in set theory, logic, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving, including advanced Thinking Mathematically! modules for sixth-grade students.
English Language Arts (ELA): Instruction in English grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, written expression, and essay composition.
North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) and End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment Preparation: Targeted preparation for applicable North Carolina assessments, including EOG tests in mathematics and English language arts for eligible grades and EOC assessments in courses such as Math 1 and English II. Instruction includes grade-appropriate practice, critical thinking, reading comprehension, question analysis, and test-taking strategies.
North Carolina Curriculum Support: Personalized instruction aligned with the student's grade level, school curriculum, and applicable North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS). Tutoring reinforces classroom learning, addresses academic skill gaps, develops independent problem-solving skills, and helps students prepare for classroom tests and state assessments.

Question: Do I need a desktop computer for my student?
Yes, your student must have access to the internet, speakers on their computer, and I recommend access to a working printer to printout academic work. I recommend a desktop computer over Ipads and other devices.
Do you do academic assessments of My students?
Yes, my students do continuous academic assessments in math and English grammar to determine the student’s skills in the subject being tutored. The continuous academic assessment allows us to adjust your student’s academic tutoring to fit their needs.

How do you assess a student's current level? We do continuous assessments daily to determine the student’s skill level and gaps in knowledge, and we adjust each individual tutoring session to meet the students needs to get the academic results you want.
What kind of measurable results can I expect? One month of academic tutoring under the direction of Dr. Kevin L. Powell can result in a complete positive direction in your student’s math grades. For English Grammar, it will take approximately 90 days to see positive results because many students are several grade levels below the standards for reading comprehension and 6th Grade English Grammar.
How do you handle a student who "isn't getting it"? Your student will get extra 1 on 1 sessions and we make adjustments to our tutoring sessions. In addition, if permitted, we contact your student’s teacher’s to ensure a connection between the tutoring session and current needs in the classroom.
